Educational Background:

Dr. Terrell Perry holds an Ed. D. in Adult Education, an M.S. Ed. in Counseling, and a B.S. in Psychology.

Professional Experience:

During his 27-year career, Dr. Perry has developed more than 262 CBT/WBT/Distance Education courses. His products have included courseware for the United States Navy's A-6E Air Crew personnel and an eight-lesson series for the U. S. Navy's Landing Signal Officers. In addition, Dr. Perry has developed two multimedia CD-ROM series -- Basic and Master Scuba Diver Courses -- for the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) and a multimedia series based on the International Hunter Education Association's (IHEA) Responsible Hunting curriculum. During his seven years with Coastal Training Technologies, Dr. Perry’s designs helped train workers in safety and environmental (OSHA), human resources, technical skills, and healthcare administration. He is currently Instructional Designer/Assistant Professor at Old Dominion University.

Terrell has taught:

  • IPT523 Authoring Skills for Instructional Media
  • IPT551 Designing Computer-Based Training

He also taught in the Virginia Community College System while continuing to teach for Boise State University and Old Dominion University. He consults with numerous organizations in Virginia, Atlanta, and Florida. For the past 19 years, his focus has been exclusively on CBT, Multimedia, CD-ROM, WBT and Distance Learning courseware development. His research interests include Instructional Design, Human Factors Engineering, Graphical User Interface Design, Psychometrics, Self-Directed Learning and Courseware Authoring.
