The Master of Science in Instructional & Performance Technology (IPT) degree and the Graduate Certificate in Human Performance Technology (HPT) are intended to prepare students for careers in the areas of instructional technology, performance technology, instructional design, performance improvement, training and training management, e-learning in business and industry, human resources, organizational development, and human performance consulting.

  Options for attendance include 1. on-campus (tranditional evening classes and full-time graduate assistantship), 2. A combination of on-campus and online (flexible scheduling with a combination of on-campus and online classes), and 3. online (global access via the Internet, no residensy requirement, experts in the field from around the world teaching the courses).

You will improve: your knowledge in analysis and observation, technical development/design, learning theory and styles, evaluation and measurement, and management and leadership; and your organization's productivity, human performance, competitiveness and bottom-line results

IPT NEWS

* At the 4th Annual COEN Awards ceremony, IPT graduate assistant Shelley Berg was awarded an 'Honorary Materials Scientist' award for developing a series of e-learning tutorials for the Materials Science and Engineering department.

*Don Winiecki, IPT associate professor and adjunct professor of Sociology, has authored a chapter "Using Ethnographic Forms of Research to Study the Social World and To Make Social Theories Studyable" to appear in an upcoming collection titled "Contemporary Studies in Ethnography" to be published by Nova Science Publishers.

*Seung Youn (Yonnie) Chyung, IPT associate professor, has published a textbook titled Foundations of Instructional and Performance Technology, by HRD Press.

*IPT Adjunct faculty member Diane Gayeski was the recipient of ISPI's 2008 Thomas Gilbert Award for Professional Achievement. Dr. Gayeski also presented a Masters Series at the 2008 annual Performance Improvement conference on The Workforce of the Future.

* IPT Associate Professor Donald Winiecki presented his papers, The expert witness and courtroom discourse: A case of applying both micro and macro forms of discourse analysis and An ethnostatistical analysis of performance measurement at the 2008 meeting of the Pacific Sociological Association (PSA) in Portland, OR.

*IPT student Kevin Taylor and IPT faculty member Yonnie Chyung presented "The Implications of 3D virtual environments on Employee Training & Development" at the 2008 Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Convention held in Boise, ID.

* Four IPT faculty and seven students presented at the 2008 ISPI conference. See photo album.

* Three IPT alumni and one student were the recipients of a 2008 ISPI Award of Excellence. Read more.

 
* Both the on-campus and on-line programs are fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
